Curriculum focus

The practice areas behind thoughtful coaching.

The official curriculum asks participants to build capability across teaching, classroom leadership, communication, professional conduct and final teaching practice.

Teaching clarity

Use lesson structure, visual explanation, chunking, I-We-You and questioning to help learners think before they move.

Classroom leadership

Practise age and level adaptation, mixed skill routines, participation, engagement and constructive responses to mistakes.

Player development

Work across openings, middlegames, endgames, calculation, pattern recognition and reflection without reducing progress to a rating alone.

Professional communication

Prepare learner friendly explanations, feedback reports, parent conversations, inquiry responses and respectful conflict approaches.

Professional conduct

Explore boundaries, privacy awareness, communication routes, ethical judgement and the responsibilities of a coaching environment.

The curriculum is designed for evidence of practice.

Role-plays, mock lessons, case studies, reports, checklists, reflection and an observed final teaching segment make the work visible.
